God’s Love In Action, February 20, 2025

Exodus 34:6,7a. “And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished;”

 Alfred Graca town in Northern Minas, Gerais, in 1998 was an area devastated by three years of poor rains.  A group of Presbyterian churches in Belo Horizonte came together with support from Emmanuel International to provide food packages for the poorest families every two weeks.  22 years later, Igreja Presbiteriana church in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais continues the heart of service for those in need.  Throughout the Covid pandemic, this church provided food packages for 500 families continuously over the course of a year.  This church is a partner church of Missao Emanuel do Brasil (MEB), an affiliate of Emmanuel International.  It is pastored by Tarcisio Porto who himself served on MEB teams in the early 1980s.  Tarcisio continues to encourage the people of his church to be active in Christ-centered outreach, in mission.
