Deuteronomy 20:4. "For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
The EI annual report for 2005 was one of celebration, acknowledging God’s goodness through 30 years. At that point, EI was working in 10 countries, with 20 church partners, who together were running 47 different projects. Here are a few more statistics for 2005:
*5,482 people were known to have committed their lives to Christ
*12,465 people were discipled in the Christian faith
*27 new churches were established.
*151,193 people benefited from health projects
*71,662 people benefited from water projects
*424,520 people benefited from relief projects
*66,823 people benefited from agriculture projects
*1,870 people benefited from literacy projects
Late Andy Atkins was Director at the time. Andy loved the Lord and served with his wife, Judy, in leadership on the field and in the Stouffville office. At one point, Andy was Director of both the International and the EI Canada offices. In the 2005 annual report, Andy wrote, “So, to each participant in EI over its 30 years – whether just yesterday or from day one – thanks for your part in allowing us to reach our potential. We invite you to stay on board and assist us reach the potential EI has for the next 30 years.”
Twenty years later, as we celebrate EI’s Jubilee year, we echo Andy’s words: Thank you to each and every person who has been a part of EI’s history. To God be the glory.
